- All driver training courses are not created equal.
The NAPD course is a total driver improvement system not merely a collection of exercises thrown together and called driver training. Each exercise in the NAPD curriculum is an integral part of the whole system. The successful completion of each task equips the student with the necessary skill and knowledge to undertake the next task. The themes of safety, efficiency, and control, are reinforced throughout all aspects of the training. top

Ultimately, new skills must become part of a driver's instincts. If you have to think about them, it's probably too late. Correctly repeating new techniques under stress quickly shapes new reflexes. NAPD activities are specifically designed to raise the intensity level of the training while keeping speeds lower and safer for everyone. top
- Not unlike firearms, driver training has to be ongoing.
Once proper driving skills are developed, they have to be maintained, not taken for granted. We recommend semi-annual retrainers following the original (24 hr) course of instruction. That's why an 8hr refresher curriculum is included in our instructor program. top

The big, rear driven sedan is not the only game in town anymore. Growing numbers of sport utility vehicles, high performance cars, and new front wheel drive models are joining the fleet.
